Many manufacturers and suppliers offer free training courses that are available to dealership personnel. These are great professional development opportunities for staff, and helps them to better sell the products your suppliers or manufacturers are promoting.
This was apparent at a particular dealership where employees participated in a winter tire event in August one year. One wouldn’t think that would be a great time of year to promote winter tires, but the manufacturer had the training session set up to mimic various winter situations, and it was quite effective. That winter, the dealership saw an increase in winter tire sales of 250%!! Needless to say, everyone at that dealership was quite happy!
